Google Maps adds London Underground real-time service alerts

Google Maps today added real-time service alerts for the London Underground, ensuring that commuters as well as travellers will be notified ahead of time should there be any potential disruptions to their planned journeys. It will allow you to check up on the status of a station and if any problems are affecting the lines’ normal routes and schedules.

Millions will descend on London this summer for the Olympic and Paralympic games, and travel chaos has been widely predicted, but Google’s new tool should ease pressure on the London Underground. Google Maps also recently added traffic updates for all roads, allowing users to assess typical traffic by time of day for smaller roads as well as major highways.
