Google Maps for Android Gets New Home Screen in India

Google Maps for Android gets a new update in which the Indian users of the app gets new Home screen. Now the Google maps home screen in India is optimized to be less data-hungry and load faster on poor connections across India.

In this new Home Screen you will see the Direction card in which you can select the transportation modes. If you’d like to access a certain route while you’re on the go without using data, you can also save the route to be used offline. Below the transportation modes you will see some useful features which includes the traffic details, Public transport lines, etc.

In this new update When you’re searching for places, the map loads in the background, thus making the home screen much faster on slower connections. To see these changes you should update your Google Maps to its latest version from the Play store.
