Latest Google Camera 5.2.025 has dedicated shortcut for Google Lens

Google – as promised during the Google I/O 2018 was, so far, successful in integrating the Google Lens right into the default camera app on devices of other OEMs. We’ve seen recently many Non-Google devices receiving software update that basically introduced Google Lens to the camera app. On the other hand, others such as Moto Z3 Play and LG G7 came preloaded with Google Lens on their default camera apps. But in between, perhaps funny enough, Google has forgot to add the Lens shortcut to its own camera app – the Google Camera. Nevertheless, Google is finally doing what it could have done much earlier – adding Google Lens shortcut on the Google Camera.

Better late than never, the latest Google Camera 5.2.025 has a dedicated Lens shortcut for triggering the Google Lens all in-app. Thereby – Pixel, Nexus, and other devices compatible with Google camera need not have to seek the Google Assistant, standalone Google Lens app or the Google Photos in order to access the Lens feature hereafter. Instead they can just head over to one of the most frequently used app, i.e, the Google Camera.

The Lens shortcut is buried inside the navigation drawer which can be accessed by tapping the hamburger icon at the top left or just swipe from the left edge to the center. Note that, the Lens shortcut works exactly how the Google Lens work on other devices, with no new additional features nor any features trimmed down. However, the latest update does bring some new features to the Google Camera app. Look at the changelog below to know the new changes:
