Motorola Moto G7 finally starts getting Android 10 update in India

Motorola has finally started updating the Moto G7 to the latest Android 10 version in India. The smartphone which launched a year back got the update already in other regions prior to the country. The new update brings all the Android 10 goodness like the improved Digital wellbeing, smart reply, privacy, and more.

Recently, a Twitter user posted the screenshot of the update notice which led us to Motorola’s support page. The page says the update has started rolling out from June 8, 2020, as you can see below. Users have already started receiving the update and the rest of them will receive it in the coming days.

Android 10: What’s New?

The changelog for the update is unknown at the moment. However, the latest Android 10 will surely bring features like Smart reply, all-new Android 10 gestures, Google’s new live caption, improved privacy and parental controls, etc. As for the UI, Motorola gives an interface that is close to stock android with no bloatware.

Apart from the Android 10 update, it remains to be seen what other changes Motorola has brought to the device. Additionally, the support page says Motorola has scheduled to bring security patches to the devices in the future.

A Two-month delay

Motorola is generally slow when updating their older devices. The company released the kernel source for Android 10 back in March. However, it has taken more than two months for them to push the OTA update.

Nevertheless, this is a welcoming change as Indian users are finally receiving the major OTA update. Earlier, the update was scheduled to land somewhere in Q2 2020.

Motorola Moto G7 Specifications

Motorola’s Moto G7 launched a year back in India with a price tag of Rs.16,999.  It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. There are a 12MP and 5MP dual cameras on the back with an 8MP selfie shooter at the front. A 3,000mAh battery backs up the device which debuted with Android 9 Pie at launch.
