Navigation Layer: Perform Actions From The Sidebars

Android devices have gotten us into the habit of using swipe motion for various actions. And in case you wanted to use the swipe motion for more functions than your Android device currently lets you, we might have some good news for you. Navigation Layer lets you optimize your screen space by wiping off the navigation buttons and letting you navigate and do much more with just a swipe. Instead of just letting you navigate, the Navigation Layer app lets you do pretty much everything by swiping across the screen in different ways. It does so by creating three swipe-sensitive areas on the edges of the screen (right edge, bottom edge and left edge). When swiped in these areas in a particular fashion, you can access up to 15 different functions which include:

  • Open an APP
  • Go to HOME screen
  • Open Menu
  • Launch previous opened APP
  • Launch Task Manager
  • Standby Mode
  • Close the current APP and go to HOME screen
  • Clear RAM
  • Go Back

These different functions can be accessed by touching the screen in different ways, which are:

– Swipe UP
– Swipe DOWN
– Swipe LEFT
– Swipe RIGHT
– Prolonged pressure
– Double Tap

Of the different functions listed above which the Navigation Layer app lets you perform, the last 5 functions require you to grant root access to the Navigation Layer app.

The Navigation Layer app can prove to be a boon for people keen on multitasking with their Android devices. Sounds interesting? Get your hands on the app here.
