OnePlus 7 Series receives OxygenOS 11.0.8.1 update with May 2022 Security Patch

The Oneplus 7 and Oneplus 7T series are scheduled to get the Android 12 beta in June. Meanwhile, the company is delivering a new software update based on OxygenOS 11. The entire OnePlus 7 series— OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, including the T-Mobile variants— OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro is picking up a new update with OxygenOS 11.0.8.1.

Starting with the standard variants, for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, the update is rolling out in Europe and North America. For the European models, the build carries version number 11.0.8.1.GM57BA for the OnePlus 7 and 11.0.8.1.GM21BA for the OnePlus 7 Pro. While the NA units will be bumped via version 11.0.8.1.GM57AA and 11.0.8.1.GM21AA​ respectively.

Moving to the T-Mobile versions, the package is making its way to India, Europe, and North America. For the OnePlus 7T, the update arrives via the firmware version 11.0.8.1.HD65AA in India and NA. while the European models are upgrading with 11.0.8.1.HD65BA.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 7T Pro is grabbing version 11.0.8.1.HD01AA for Indian models and NA variants. Whereas the number varies to 11.0.8.1.HD01BA for the European units.

Moving forward with changes, the changelog is quite crisp and the same for all smartphones. The build does not pack any new significant changes. However, after flashing the new software, the system security patch will be upgraded to May 2022. In addition, it improves system stability as well.

The package is having an incremental rollout, making way for limited users initially. A border rollout will follow after ensuring smooth functioning and the absence of bugs. Alternatively, you head to Settings > Software update to give it a manual check.
