OnePlus Watch gets an update with improved system stability and new features

The OnePlus Watch has not stood up to the expectations of the company due to various flaws in the software experience encountered by the users. To overcome these, the Chinese giant is sending the first software update to its newly-launched watch which brings improved system stability and new features to the wearable.

The latest software arrives on version B.40 which will soon hit the US and Canada and is expected to reach other regions soon. The update improves system stability and fixes several bugs to make it more user-friendly. Moreover, the build tends to resolve the main issue of notification support. According to OnePlus, notification app icons would only be supported for the most frequently used apps. If you are an OnePlus Watch user, here’s what you will get:

  • Improved GPS performance
  • Improved accuracy of activity tracking (walking and running)
  • Optimized heart rate monitoring algorithm
  • Enabled notification app icons for the most frequently used apps
  • Improved raise-to-wake function
  • Optimized notification syncing algorithm
  • Fixed some known bugs
  • Improved system stability

Furthermore, OnePlus gave a highlight about ‘future updates’ that will introduce AOD, a feature that was expected to roll out earlier this month, and more features like:

  • Add Always-on Display feature
  • Add remote camera control of Android smartphones (Android phones running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above) from OnePlus Watch
  • Add 12-hour time format
  • Add 4 languages: German, Italian, Spanish, and Polish
  • Enable all 110+ workout modes
  • Enable AI watch face
As per the OnePlus official site, the additional workout modes and fixing the lack of sleep data recording will with the mid-May update. However, it is not yet clear when the above-mentioned features will go live for the OnePlus watch, but it should not take much time.
