Some Pixel 3 users are facing ‘fatal error’ while accessing camera

Google Pixel 3 has the best camera on any smartphone right now. But, that doesn’t mean the device is perfect. Going by the history of Pixel lineup with their bugs, Pixel 3 does have lesser bugs than its predecessors. Adding to the never-ending bug list, some Pixel 3 users are currently facing ‘fatal error‘ while accessing the camera.

The ‘fatal error’ on Pixel 3 units can be reproduced in a simple way. All you have to do is open a third party camera application or any other application which has access to the camera. Once you accept permission to ‘allow access‘ to the camera in those apps, the camera might then not work thereafter in some units. Yes, you heard it right. The best camera on any smartphone will not work throwing camera errors such as ‘can’t cannot to the camera‘ and ‘fatal error‘.

As of now, there’s no way to permanently fix the issue. Some users even performed a factory reset on their Pixel 3 unit and even that didn’t resolve the issue for them. However, there is a way to fix this bug unless you don’t want to Snapchat or use any other third-party applications accessing the camera. In that case, simply revoke the permission to access the camera in all the third-party applications installed on your Pixel 3.

As this bug is not widespread and limited to a few numbers of users, Google support team is even refusing for replacements and asks them to wait for an update to fix the bug.

Google didn’t respond to the ‘fatal error’ camera bug on Pixel 3 yet. Hope, they are working on the fix and seed them to users as quickly as possible.
