Stable VLC Player Lands On Google Play, Beta Version Also Present

Its been a long time since the presence of VLC beta player on the Google Play Store. Today, after couple of years, videolabs launched the stable version of the VLC Player.

The stable VLC doesn’t replace the existing beta version and will co-exist with it, the latter is likely to get new features and enhancements first. VLC for Android stable version has all the features that debut through its beta version in the past. These features include a wide list of audio and video format support and the ability to add the player as a widget on the homescreen.

Here is quick look at the VLC for Android features:

  • All formats are supported, including MKV, MP4, AVI, MOV, Ogg, FLAC, TS, M2TS and AAC. No extra codec necessary.
  • Includes a media library for audio and video files, and allows to browse folders directly.
  • Support for multi-track audio and subtitles
  • Also supports auto-rotation, aspect-ratio adjustments and gestures to control volume, brightness and seeking.
  • Widget for audio control, supports audio headsets control, cover art and a complete audio media library.

If you want to give the full and stable version of VLC for Android a shot you can do so by grabbing it from the Play Store link.
