WhatsApp beta v2.19.45 update brings new visuals in settings

WhatsApp beta users are always the first to experience the new features of the application. The beta version is updated daily mostly with some under the hood changes. But sometimes, these updates also add new features and functionalities. Such as now for the first time since 2016, WhatsApp beta v2.19.45 update revamps the visuals throughout the settings.

As we all know, WhatsApp is the most used cross-platform instant messaging application. And hence, it truly needs more polishing and useful features. The app’s design has been changed a lot since its initial release. The last major design overhaul was the addition of the so-called stories borrowed from Instagram which was originally copied from Snapchat. However, the settings of the app remain unchanged since March 2016 which is now finally getting a refresh in the latest beta v2.19.45.

WhatsApp beta v2.19.45 changes

The icons in the settings are now dull and smaller than before. The thin separator lines between each option have been removed. Also, checkboxes are now replaced with switches which makes sense. The out of place grey-colored cards with details are nowhere to be seen which is even better.

The most interesting and major design change can be seen under Data and storage usage. Network usage info has been completely revamped with graphic visuals rather than text data as before. The data usage info is now neatly organized with icons and hence they are easy to interpret.

As mentioned earlier, the new design is currently live only on the latest WhatsApp beta. Hence, to experience it, apply for beta from Play Store or wait till it gets rolled to the stable channel.
