Xiaomi India confirms to Remove banned Chinese apps in next MIUI update

After the Indian government bans the various Chinese apps in the Country. Now, Xiaomi announces that in the upcoming MIUI update all the banned apps like Mi Browser, Mi Video, and Mi Community apps will be removed from the Xiaomi Phones in India. It’s important to tell you that in June 2020 India has banned 59 Chinese apps.

Xiaomi today announced in a tweet that they are working on a new version of MIUI, which will not include the banned apps in India. However, the update will be rolled out over the next few weeks to all phones in a phased manner in India. The company also cleared that the MIUI Cleaner app is not Clean Master app that is banned by India.

In the letter shared by Xiaomi on Twiter, the company has stated that data of Indian users is stored on the servers located in India.

 “Even before it was mandated, we pioneered data localization for all Xiaomi India apps and users. Since 2018, 100% of data from Indian users in stored on servers located in India and none of this data is shared with anyone outside of India,” says the company.

However, the company doesn’t give an exact date for the update.
