MIUI 9.5, the latest edition of MIUI9 has started hitting the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 in India. The OTA update carrying version number MIUI 9.5.3.0.NEGMIFA brings bug fixes, an optimized browser kernel, sound recording options and much more. However, not the major Android Oreo 8.1 as the latest Mi skin is topped over the existing Android Nougat 7.1 itself.
The MIUI 9.5 is, in fact, quite unique from the previous edition of MIUI9 as the update brings notifications similar to stock Android Nougat 7.0+. With the MIUI 9.5, notifications get new add-on such as in-line replies, one-finger gesture to expand notifications, and bundled notifications. Also, as claimed by Xiaomi the MIUI 9.5 is optimized for better and smoother performance similar to stock Android.
Here, we should appreciate Xiaomi for providing updates for all of the eligible devices in a satisfactory manner. It’s good to know that, the Chinese firm had even given the MIUI9 update for 2 years old budget devices such as Redmi 1S and Redmi 2. If Xiaomi follows this good suit, then it won’t take long for the firm to become a most trusted and consumer-friendly Android vendor.
Coming back to the Redmi Note 5 update, it’s to be noted that the update is rolling out gradually. Hence, it’d take around 1 week for the update to reach every units.
