Asus rolls out April 2021 security patch update to ROG Phone 5

Since the launch of Asus ROG Phone 5, the company is continuously sending out updates to the gamer’s smartphone. It’s not been even a month and the handset already got upgraded thrice with new features and firmware versions. Now, there is one more stop for ROG Phone 5 i.e; the latest April 2021 Android security patch update.

The fresh build for the ROG Phone 5 can be identified by firmware version number 18.0830.2101.86. The new package tends to address several issues with regard to network, volume adjustments, and system stability. Also, the software changes claim that the steady charging will now support more charger types and level adjustment settings. Here’s the entire changelog published by the Taiwan giant.

  • Fixed unable to use Chunghwa Telecom 4G to log in to certain games.
  • Fixed issue where the volume of Bluetooth headset is automatically reduced to a minimum after plugging and unplugging a wired headset and turning off Bluetooth.
  • Fixed an issue where the system could crash after plugging in headphones while playing music.
  • Steady Charging now supports more charger types and level adjustment settings.

As normal updates occur, this FOTA build is also unfurling to different units by batches. Accordingly, it may take some time to reach out to every device. But as always, you can navigate the update by tapping Settings > System updates > System, in here check if there is new firmware available is available to you and then click Download and install.

Asus ROG Phone 5 Specifications

The brand-new device features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display paired with up to 16GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone powers Android 11, ROG UI fueled by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Chipset.
