Information regarding another unannounced Android handset has plopped into the laps of the guys at PocketNow. This time we’re hearing of a device being called the LG CX2, a successor to the LG Optimus 3D. The device will reportedly feature a 1.2GHz dual-core OMAP4 processor, dual 5 megapixel rear cameras, 8GB of internal storage, an NFC chip and your usual host of connectivity options. As we saw with the Optimus 3D of yesteryear the CX2 is expected to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress – we’ll sure be excited to see how this bad boy turns out. Anyone interested?

The guys over at PocketNow have obtained an image of the LG X3, a quad-core phone that’s set to be released sometime during the first half of 2012. According to PocketNow, the LG X3 will feature NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor. The image of the X3 shows a large, slim phone that features a large 4.7-inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution packed into a body that’s less than 9mm thin. The X3 will feature both front and rear-facing cameras at 1.3 and 8-mmegapixels, respectively; 16GB of internal storage via microSD; Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich; 21Mbps HSPA and possible LTE radios, 802.11b/g/n Wi=Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and a 2000mAh battery.

Although the phone will launch with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, LG has decided to keep the physical capacitive touch buttons, which means that the 4.7-inch display will give you more room to display content. On the Galaxy Nexus, for example, part of the 4.65-inch display is used to display the on-screen buttons.

We’ll be finding out more on the LG X3 when it is hopefully announced this February at Mobile World Congress. Pocket Now is expecting the phone to launch sometime in late spring or early summer.

So, if the specs and the render is indeed correct, what do you guys think about the LG X3? Is it too big? What about the buttons? Should they stay or should they go? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
