Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 9 starts getting January 2020 Security Patch

Samsung starts rolling out Android security patch for the month of January 2020 on its Galaxy Note 9, S8 and S8+. Recently, Samsung has rolled out the Android 10 update on Galaxy Note 9. Now the update which is rolling out on these phones does not contain any major feature other than January Security patch.

On Galaxy S8 series the update comes with firmware version G95xFXXS6DTA1 and it weighs about 438MB in size. Galaxy Note 9 update comes with firmware version N960FXXS4DTA1. 

The update on all the three phones includes a January security patch that consists of 35 improvements for the Android operating system itself. There are 17 fixes for Samsung’s One UI interface and apps. These include weaknesses in the boot loader, the reactivation lock, the drivers of the display, and the Gallery.  

Currently, the update is rolling out in European countries like France, Hungary, Poland, and the Netherlands. In future, it will be rolling out other countries also. If you’re living in Europe you will get the update, Moreover, you can check the update by going through the settings >> software updates.

    Or else they'll just loose good chunk of customers I think
