Google Play Protect takes App scanning to the foreground

This I/O 2017, Google introduced some promising features that will come pre-loaded with Android O, while some to be added via maintenance updates later on. Google is continuously working to make the next version of Android more accessible, secure, and long-lasting. Google is now more focused on making your device more secure than ever before.

All future devices to be released with Android O will have Google Play Protect app preinstalled, scanning your apps for malware and making sure your device stays secure from various threats and vulnerabilities. This feature is not a new addition and is presently available, but scanning is handled in the background. With Google Play Protect it comes to the foreground.

With Google Play Protect, you will be able to see when your apps were last scanned. Google says it works around the clock, constantly updating to keep up with the latest threats.
