Latest Magisk 16.0 adds support for some Treble devices

The XDA recognized developer, Topjohnwu who raised to fame due to his revolutionary root exploit has come up with a new stable version of magisk. The root manager is making a jump from previous stable version of 15.3 directly to 16.0. As every major stable releases, the Magisk 16.0 brings slew of upgradations to the table. For the first time, Magisk is capable of rooting some Treble implemented devices.latest magisk 16.0

Here goes the Changelog of update sourced from the Official XDA thread.

Changelog Magisk 16.0

  1. F2FS Crash Fix
  2. Welcome Huawei Treble Devices!
  3. Fixed NDK Compiler Bug
  4. libsu
  5. and more under the hood optimizations

The second changelog seems to be a great acheivement for the dev and his product. Since Magisk can now root some Huawei/Honor devices under Project Treble. Similarly, we could expect the root manager to extend its suppprt for many other Treble devices in future releases.

Speaking of the future updates, looks like there won’t be any new releases in too near future. As Topjohnwu has announced his break from development area for some time from now. Hence, we’d be happy and satisfied with this stable release until he returns.
