Late last year, Xiaomi acquired Meitu‘s hardware business. Meitu is a tech company known for making selfie-focused apps and smartphones. And now the company is all set to unveil their first phone under Xiaomi which unfortunately leaks in a press render before the launch event.
The leaked render of the upcoming Meitu smartphone reveals the key design. It will come with a rotatable flip camera like the ASUS Zenfone 6. But unlike the Zenfone which has a dual camera setup, the Meitu smartphone will come with a triple camera setup. Also, the phone features a Pink gradient paint job appealing to female buyers. Other than the design, there is nothing much information available about this upcoming Meitu phone.
Initially, Meitu started as a company developing photo editing apps especially focused on selfies. Due to its huge success, it made its way into the smartphone industry in 2013. All of their phones are selfie-centric and are mostly sold in the home country China. Now, under the new ownership of Xiaomi, Meitu-branded smartphones may be introduced to more markets than before.
Neither Meitu nor Xiaomi has announced any launch event yet. Since the press renders are already on the web, we can expect the launch of the phone very soon.
