Report: LG V30 to drop secondary display in favor of OLED panel

LG is expected to launch its upcoming flagship, the LG V30 at IFA Berlin in September this year. A report suggests that LG has decided to ditch the secondary display on LG V30 and will opt for OLED panel instead. LG V10 was the first device to feature secondary display followed by LG V20 last year. The secondary display is placed right above the main screen and displays shortcuts and notifications.

The change was first reported by XDA Developers, stating LG has decided to withdraw secondary display and will shift towards bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Also, LG will be embedding OLED display panel in its upcoming flagship device.

The report also claims that LG V30 will be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of on-board storage with expandable storage option. The device is also expected to feature dual camera setup at the rear as well as front side.

While the smartphone’s official release is at least a couple of months away, we expect some more information coming our way. Watch out this space for more information and details about the upcoming LG V30.
