Samsung Announces Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5

Samsung has announced Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 after several rumors for both of the tablets. These tablets are the first ones which feature Super AMOLED screens of WQXGA resolution (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) resulting in impressively high pixel density. It will make images more crisp, rich and vibrant. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 both are high end tablets including high end features and high end hardware. First let’s talk about their AMOLED displays, the tablet sport WQXGA resolutions of 2560×1600, just a tad higher than WQHD 2560×1440. On the 10.5-inch tablet, this gives users an effective pixel density of 288 ppi. But on the 8.4-inch one, you get a whopping 359 ppi. These tablets debuts Samsung’s Magazine UI and this lightweight devices measure in at 6.6 mm thick, and run Android 4.4 (KitKat). Samsung will offer both the tablets in two chipset variants. The LTE variants pack a Snapdragon 800 chipset with a 2.3GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU, while the Wi-Fi version offers Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa chipset with a quad 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 and quad 1.9GHz Cortex-A15. Both configurations come with 3GB of RAM. There are many new sensors like IR blaster on the side and a fingerprint scanner in the Home button and few others. Samsung is going to make it available in the US and Europe in July and starts at $399 for the 8.4-inch and $499 for 10.5-inch model.
