sony 50 million smartphones

According to Digitimes Sony is aiming high this time as they aims to ship 50 Million Smartphones in the upcoming year, 2013. Digitimes sources also revealed that 30-40% of total Shipments will be carried out by Taiwan-based handset ODMs, Foxconn International Holdings, Arima Communications and Compal Communications.

Sony is facing tough competition from Samsung and Apple but Sony has managed to sell around 35 million smartphones this year. In previous quarter sony sold around 8.8 million Smartphone units.

Sony is struggling to catch required amount of money from their smartphones may be that because of marketing or phone related issues like software. According to some customers Sony’s custom User Interface on Smartphones do not give good performance. So Sony need to look into these mini problems to catch up with other Companies.
