If you are a loyal fan of Sony Smartphones, particularly the Xperia product line, you definitely would want to learn more about this latest addition before you spend a couple hundred dollars on it. In this review, you will learn more about the announced designs, features, and specifications of the Smartphone.

Xperia M – Smartphone Build and Design

One of the adjectives that Sony decided to use in this latest Xperia model is ‘compact’. At 9.33 mm thick, it definitely fits this description. In addition to this, with the Smartphone’s weight of 124 g, which already includes the weight of the battery (except for the micro SD card), it is certainly a lot more lightweight than most of the other Smartphones in the same category.

Xperia M – Smartphone Specifications

The Xperia M is said to be powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm dual core processor. However, no further details about the processor have been announced yet. What was announced by the telecoms company though is that the Smartphone will be featuring a 4-inch display screen with a resolution of 480 by 854. Internal memory is also said to be at 1 GB. User-accessible storage will only be up to 4GB. Fortunately, the phone supports external memory through the use of micro SD cards.

The Sony Xperia M will also ship with the Android 4.1 operating system, which is not the latest. Some piece of good news though is that the manufacturer will include tweaks such as the ability to transfer content to other Sony manufactured devices, such as TVs. DLNA support will also be included. In addition to these, the handset will also be Playstation Certified, which means that users will have access both to the Google Play Store and the Sony Entertainment Network Store.

Xperia M – Smartphone Camera

The Xperia M features a rear camera that has a 5 megapixel resolution. In addition to this, the rear camera also has a built in auto focus feature and a flash. The back camera also has video recording capabilities at 720p and up to 30 frames/second. And since we are talking about a Sony device, you can expect the handset to feature a 4x digital zoom, face detection, and HDR processing. At the front of the phone is a low resolution camera that can be used for video calls.

Xperia M – OmniBalance Design

As mentioned above, one of the main features of the Sony Xperia M is the OmniBalance design technology. This is Sony’s very own design, and according to the telecoms company, it ensures that the handset will be in perfect balance, regardless of how the unit will be held. This may just prove to be a handy and useful feature, especially with many of today’s Smartphones not being that comfortable to hold.

Xperia M – Latest News

Sony has yet to announce the confirmed date wherein the Xperia M will be released. The Sony Xperia M will also be made available in a variety of colors, including purple and lime, and the more classic black as well as white.
