The forthcoming Xiaomi 13 series have been in the news for quite a long time. It is standard for a premium smartphone’s specifications to be in the news like this. A few months back, it arrived on IMEI & EEC, followed by IMDA certification. It was rumored to feature the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Popular tipster Digital Chat Station has confirmed that the device will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
The tipster adds that Leica will tune the cameras of Xiaomi 13 series smartphones. Xiaomi has partnered with Leica since the launch of the Xiaomi 12S smartphone. It suggests that the brand will continue to co-operation with Leica in the future too. On the software front, it will run on MIUI 14 on top of Android 13 out of the box. We expect Xiaomi to release MIUI 14 alongside the Xiaomi 13 series smartphones.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro was rumoured to feature a 6.7-inches AMOLED display with 2K resolution. It will use an E6 panel by Samsung with a refresh rate of 120Hz. On the contrary, the vanilla Xiaomi 13 will sport a 6.2 inches display. Some reports suggest the Xiaomi 13 series will support 120W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The Xiaomi 13 Pro would use the same Sony IMX989 sensor that came with Xiaomi 12S Ultra.
