Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G and Mi 9 starts getting stable MIUI 12 update in China

It’s been a busy month for Xiaomi. After recruiting MIUI 12 pilot testers in India last month, the company has been updating its older devices with MIUI 12 recently. In addition to the Xiaomi Mi 9T aka Redmi K20 that received the MIUI 12, the company’s last year flagships, Mi 9 and Mi 9 Pro are now receiving the MIUI 12 stable update in China.

The OTA update with the firmware version V12.0.1.0.QFACNXM brings the MIUI 12 Stable beta for the MI 9. Similarly, the update with the firmware version V12.0.1.0.QFXCNXM will update the Mi 9 Pro to the stable MIUI 12.

MIUI 12: What’s New?

The newer update will focus on revamping the overall UI design taking a departure from the earlier MIUI 11. Other MIUI 12 goodies like the new styles for AOD animations, Dynamic weather app, and wallpapers that are 3D models of Earth and Mars respectively.

Xiaomi’s new MIUI 12 which made its global debut last year has an emphasis on privacy. Programmed with MACE(Mobile AI Compute Engine), the new UI stores all data offline locally without having to upload them to the cloud.
