Xiaomi is updating its mid-range devices in recent days, and most of them are receiving MIUI 12.5 updates. Poco M2 Pro is the latest entry in the list of devices getting Android 11. Although the device is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro, it is still one of the best value for money devices from Poco.

Poco M2 Pro is receiving the Android 11 update and it would be the only major Android update for the device. Xiaomi provides only one major Android update to its budget devices but, regular MIUI updates and security patches will continue for Poco M2 Pro.
According to the reports, the latest update carries the firmware version V12.0.1.0.RJPINXM. It is an India stable release with the Android 11 upgrade and the latest August security Patch. The changelog mentions only two things including the latest security patch and system stability improvement along with Android 11.
Surprisingly, the MIUI version on the update remains the same. People were expecting the latest MIUI 12.5 with this update, but it seems Xiaomi is having some other plans. With the release of Android 12 next month or in October, Xiaomi will shift its projects to Android 12. So, this may be the end phase of Android 11 updates for Xiaomi devices.
You can wait for the update to hit your device or you can check it manually in your system settings. Apart from these methods, you can also download the recovery ROM and flash it on your device. The link for the recovery ROM is here.
