LG G3 Possibly To Debut With 5.5″ Quad HD Display

LG recently announced that its 5.5-inch Quad HD (QHD) AH-IPS LCD for smartphones has been approved by NEMKO and is now ready to be incorporated in its upcoming smartphones.

The 5.5″ QHD display which is just 1.2 mm thick and requires just a 1.15 mm bezel, the display running at 2560 x 1440 pixels is quite an impressive display to be incorporated into any device. LG also plans to sell away the panel to other smartphone manufacturers too, but not any time before the panels debut on its flagship smartphone, the LG G3. LG also claims the panel to be capable of producing 538 ppi and 100 percent RGB color reproduction.

The True-QHD certification comes from NEMKO which is an international testing and certification organization for electronic products. A company called DisplaySearch has even predicted that LG could be shipping upto a billion units of these panels by next year.
