Android KitKat Made Available On Xperia Z, ZL, ZR And Tablet Z


Sony has made a widely anticipated advancement for its last year’s Xperia smartphones, releasing Android KitKat 4.4.2 updates for its Xperia devices. The KitKat would soon be made available to the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and the Xperia Tablet Z. The newer version of Android operating system would me made available over a couple of weeks.


Along with enhanced performance, the update comes with:

  •  Android 4.4 KitKat: Better user interface and enhanced performance.
  • Live wallpapers and animations like those in PS4.
  • A more customisable and renovated notification Status bar and quick settings.
  • Downloadable Xperia UI themes.
  • Compatibility with Smartwear experience: allows you to record physical, social and entertainment activities and have them arranged in a neat interface.
  • Load more Emails, a smart social camera and a STAMINA mode with the battery
  • Updated Sony apps with better downloading speeds, better visualized UI.

After Sony is done with updating these smartphones, Sony plans to update its other devices namely Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia E1 and Xperia M2 to KitKat.
