Xiaomi has taken the wraps off of MIUI 14 alongside the Xiaomi 13 series launch in China. It is based on Android and brings many improvements over MIUI 13. Xiaomi 13 series are the first smartphone to run on MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box. The global launch of the same is unknown at the moment. The brand aims to improve system space optimization and offer faster operations. It has reduced the number of non-removable system apps to save over 1.5GB. The optimizations also apply to third-party apps to perform better.

MIUI 14 will allow one to change the size of the icons on your home screen. One can set the icon size in four different sizes to access apps quickly. It also adds interactive “cute things” like cat avatars to make the home screen more attractive. It also improves widgets and folders, and those are customizable now. There are some reports that all these features won’t be available globally. As usual, Xiaomi includes over a dozen new wallpapers with the MIUI 14.
