In September last year, Google introduced Allo as a smart messaging service app that has a built-in Google Assistant. The smart messaging app from Google allows users to engage in two-way conversation with useful features like Smart Reply, suggestion to nearby restaurants or movies, latest news, weather updates, play games, and much more.
While, Google Allo brings several cool and exciting features through mobile app, there is no way to access Google Allo over the web. Earlier this year, it has been reported that Google is working on a desktop client which will soon be released for the users. Later in May, Google’s VP of Communications, Nick Fox tweeted that the “Web client is a month or two away from public release.”
Amit Fulay, Head of Product for Google Allo and Duo, further tweeted that Allo desktop client is just a few weeks away. However, the tweet did not specify the reason for such a long delay. It seems that the wait is finally over and Google Allo’s web version is just around the corner. The web client for Google’s popular messaging app could launch much sooner than expected. Some reports even indicate that it could release as early as tomorrow or within a couple of days.
Google has been constantly bringing some new and exciting features to Allo in order to compete against other major players like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Viber and more. Google Allo’s upcoming web version is expected to have similar looks and features as that of WhatsApp web.
