HTC could very well be the first company outside href=”http://www.sony.com/” rel=”homepage” target=”_blank” title=”Sony”>Sony to receive PlayStation certification for its devices. Unnamed sources have confirmed the news with Pocketlint, which will make HTC the first firm outside of Sony to get the stamp. It will mean its smartphones and tablets will have access to Playstation game titles.

Sony PlayStation certification program was first announced around a year ago and was meant to take PS experience beyond PSP border.

Press Release:

“PlayStation Certified” license program for hardware manufacturers… will offer necessary support, including development support as well as logo licensing, to ensure the delivery of PlayStation quality experience across various devices.

HTC declined to comment on the rumour and it’s believed that we could see a device(s) – not known if new or existing – with PlayStation games by the second half of 2012.
