Huawei has newly published a list of Huawei devices confirmed to receive EMUI 8.0 update. Surprisingly, the 2016 Honor devices, Honor 8 and Honor 8 Lite are entitled to receive the latest skin as per the list. The confirmation was made through the Huawei’s official forum, and is applicable for Honor devices in Chinese market.
Huawei has also specified the name of some other Honor devices eligible for getting EMUI 8.0 based on Android Oreo 8.0. They are:
- Honor 9
- Honor V9 (Honor 8 Pro)
- Honor 7X
- Honor V8
- Honor Note 8 (Honor V8 Max).
Well, the Chinese firm hasn’t specified any time frame when the update will hit those devices. However it seems the testing of the firmwares have already begun. Hence, the roll-out of updates could happen soon rather than later one by one. Note that, the Huawei 9 and Honor V9 have just recently received the coveted major update.
It’s quite healthy and smart move from Huawei to provide two major updates for device such as Honor 8. Clearly, the list reveals the firms commitment for seeding the latest skin to all most all Honor devices eligible for the same. That said, we’ve to wait and see whether the firm will keep its promise or not.
