Oppo Find X2 may debut in February with 120Hz 2K display

Long before the launch of Reno 3 series, Oppo confirmed the arrival of Find X2 at the company’s Inno Day conference. Now, according to Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster on Weibo, the Find X2 may debut in February with 120Hz 2K display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 865.

The Oppo Find X was the company’s last Find series phone launched back in 2018. It touted a full-screen AMOLED display without any notch or punch hole since the cameras (both front and rear) and face authentication system resided in a motorized slider mechanism. This phone was one of its kind, however, the whereabouts of its successor was uncertain until last month when the company revealed it to be announced in Q1 2020. Fast forward one month, we now have some information about the upcoming Oppo Find X2.

According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Oppo Find X2 will feature a 2K display with 120Hz refresh rate. That means the screen on the Find X2 will be identical to that of Samsung Galaxy S20 series. However, Brian Shen, Vice President of Oppo claims it’s screen will be ‘second to none’ after using the device himself. Anyways, we will know the quality of the panel when the phone will go official in February as per the leak.

Further, as confirmed by the company earlier, the leak also suggests it to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 paired with Snapdragon X55 modem to support dual 5G modes. Additionally, the leak also implies it to feature UFS 3.0 storage, LPDDR5 RAM, and 56W fast charging technology. Although we can expect it to sport a waterfall display, there is less chance of it to carry Oppo’s in-screen camera since the technology is relatively new and it cannot be mass-manufactured yet.

Having said that, if the Oppo Find X2 is really supposed to go official in February (as per the leak), we can expect the company to post teasers on their social media handles soon.
