Samsung Galaxy J3 2017 launched formally on AT&T for $179.99

The Galaxy J3 2017 has been granted official release today without much fanfare in the U.S. The Galaxy J3 2017 which is a successor of last year’s J3 is a modest upgrade over last years device. As we recall, Sprint already launched the J3 2017 under the name ‘J3 Emerge’ earlier this year. Now At&T is selling the J3 2017 online as well as retail stores at $179.99 (approx. Rs 11,545)

Speaking about the specs, it can barely be called an upgrade. It carries the same 5-inch 720 x 1280 HD display and also has the same amount of RAM that is 1.5 GB. Its got the same 5-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel front camera with a f/2.2 aperture for photography. It has 16 GB storage expandable up to 256 GB. The battery is also the same 2600 mAh. What’s different? The processor. Its a Snapdragon 425 or an Exynos 7570 processor depending upon the region you live in.

For connectivity, the device comes with 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and Micro-USB port. The smartphone has Gyro, Accelerometer, Magnetic and Proximity sensors. The handset measures 140.9 x 70.1 x 8.7 mm and weighs 147 grams.

In an another recent launch, Samsung announced another low-budget device called the Z4 which runs on Samsung’s own in-house Tizen Os 3.0. The device is a 4.5 incher with WVGA (480×800) resolution display and runs on an unknown quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. Its got a 2,050 mAh battery. The dual-SIM Samsung Z4 supports 4G LTE, VoLTE, and VoWiFi.
