US Trade Panel Judge finds HTC Violating Nokia Patents


In preliminary ruling for US International Trade Commission, judge concluded that HTC has infringed two of the Nokia Patents in manufacturing their products. Though ITC is scheduled for January 2014 and they will be making a final decision on the matter.


HTC phones included the Nokia’s lawsuit are from a 2011’s lineup of the company. The phones that have been included in it are Amaze 4G, Inspire 4G, Radar 4 G, Rezound, Sensation 4G, Flyer, and also the Jetstream Tablets. Nokia made a decision to approach the ITC because it can easily ban the listed products i the United States.

A Nokia Spokesperson said for the Judge’s decision that “Nokia is pleased that the initial determination of ITC confirmed that HTC has infringed two of our patents”.
