Xiaomi stops seeding Android Oreo update for Mi A1 due to number of bugs

Earlier in December of 2017, Xiaomi started recruiting beta testers for Mi A1 Android Oreo update. Also, they delivered the beta update by mid-December itself. And as Xiaomi promised Oreo update before the end of the year for Mi A1, they rolled out the so called stable update to normal users which has lots of bugs. However, now Xiaomi has stopped seeding the update due to various issues faced by the users.

The most annoying issue faced by the users is the unresponsiveness of dialer app. Which took almost half a minute or sometimes to place a call. However, Xiaomi figured out the issue and the culprit was MyJio app. The dialer app works well once the user revoke telephony permission for the app.

The other bugs reported by the users are battery drainage while Bluetooth is switched on, removal of gesture options from the settings, issues in recent apps and many more. However, if the user had enabled fingerprint sensor swipe for notifications before updating, then it works fine for them in Oreo.

Xiaomi could have started beta testing earlier which might have helped them to deliver stable update before the deadline. What are your thoughts on Xiaomi’s update program? Let us know in the comment section below.
