Asus Zenfone 5 grabs a new update with August 2020 Security Patch

Just a day back, Asus has released the August 2020 Security Patch update for the ROG Phone 3. Now, the company is rolling out a similar update for Zenfone 5 (ZE620KL) users. The update for the device is spinning out via the 16.0615.2006.131 Firmware version and it is presently limited to India only.

What’s new/Changed?

Apart from the August 2020 Security Patch, no new features or changes were included via the update. So, it generally fuels up some security loophole fixes, and other bug fixes for issues that were posted on Google and Asus community forums. The stability and performance of the device are expected to increase with this update.

The device is getting updated almost every month. Here are the details of June, May 2020 Security Patch updates for the Zenfone 5.

The company says that the update is pushed in batches, so, it might even take a few days to hit your device. In the meantime, you can check the update status manually by heading over to Settings>Software updates>Check for updates.

Asus Zenfone 5 Specifications

Zenfone 5 was released long back in 2018 be featuring a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display, 1080 x 2246 pixels resolution. It houses Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Chipset coupled with an octa-core processor and Adreno 509 GPU. It packs a 4/6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. There’s also a dual rear camera and an 8-MP single front-facing camera.
