Asus has started pushing out July 2020 security patch update for Zenfone 5Z model ZS620KL. While Asus has a limited number of smartphone models, rolling out timely updates does not seem to be a strenuous task for them. The company recently updated Zenfone 6, Max M2, and Max M2 Pro devices with July security patch and is now available for Zenfone 5Z model ZS620KL. The firmware update arrives with version 126.96.36.199.
This particular update does not bring any new features or major changes to Zenfone 5Z. However, it does include some minor improvements alongside upgrading your device with the latest security patch. The official changelog includes:
- Google Security Patch Update (July 5, 2020)
- Improved system performance
- Improved performance when using gesture navigation
- Improved the performance of the battery level indicator
The smartphone will be receiving over-the-air (OTA) update in different batches and will be available to download for all users in the next few days. Security updates are quite important to safeguard your device against several threats and vulnerabilities. We always advise to download and install security updates as soon as you receive a system notification. If you do not see an update notification, you can always check for the update manually. Navigate to Settings > System Update and check if the update is available for your device.
