According to the latest leak, the forthcoming Moto G Stylus, the first Moto G series phone with a stylus pen will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. This mid-range chip from last year will be paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB ROM. The leak does not mention the presence of a microSD card slot but it does convey it to feature a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device will be sold in multiple variants across different regions with a single SIM, dual SIM, and with or without NFC. The model numbers of the phone include XT-2043-4, XT-2043-5, and XT-2043-6.

On the front, the device will come equipped with a 6.36-inches FHD+ (2300 x 1080 pixels) LCD panel with a single punch hole at the top left corner for a selfie camera. As the name of the phone suggests, the display will have support for input via stylus, which has a slot of its own at the bottom of the device. Interestingly, Motorola has implemented a function which will notify the user if the stylus has not inserted after a certain period of time by monitoring the time and location when it was removed. Additionally, the device will come with a new ‘Moto Note’ app to make use of the stylus in which the user has to use their finger to erase content. Also, the phone lets the user assign an app or shortcut to launch when the stylus is removed from its slot.

As far as optics are concerned, the Moto G Stylus will come with a quad-camera setup consisting of a primary 48MP f/1.7 aperture Samsung S5KGM1 (ISOCELL GM1) sensor paired with a 16MP f/2.2 aperture 117-degree ultra-wide-angle ‘Action Cam’ sensor (debuted on Moto One Action), a 2MP f/2.2 aperture macro sensor, and a depth sensor for portrait shots. Whereas for selfies and video calls, there will be a 25MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture nested in the punch hole of the display.

Apart from the cameras, the back of the device will also house a fingerprint sensor with the iconic ‘Motorola Bat Wing’. Last but not least, although the device will run Android 10 out of the box, it will be backed by a 4,000 mAh battery with support for only 10W charging via USB Type-C.

The Moto G Stylus is expected to be announced at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2020, which will be held at Barcelona in the last week of February
