A new leak suggests Sony will be announcing its next flagship smartphone called Xperia 1.1 at the Mobile World Congress 2020. The leak reveals the phone’s Penta-camera setup which will include a 64MP shooter and a periscope lens similar to the last year’s Huawei P30 Pro and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

This particular leak calls Sony‘s upcoming flagship smartphone Xperia 1.1 and not Xperia 5 Plus like the previous leaks. On top of that, the leak reveals the alleged Penta-camera setup of the phone in a press renders along with details. According to it, the phone’s camera array will include a huge 1/1.5″ 12MP sensor, another large 1/1.7″ 64MP sensor (probably Sony’s own IMX686), a 2MP TOF (Time of Flight) sensor, an unknown periscope lens with OIS, and a 1/3.4″ 12MP sensor with an ultra-wide lens. This camera setup seems solid at least on paper and above all this device will be the company’s first smartphone to feature 5 cameras on the back.

Unfortunately, the leak does not say anything more about the phone. Anyways, as per previous leaks and rumours, it will sport a 6.6-inches OLED display and will support 5G connectivity as it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC paired with Snapdragon X55 5G modem. Although Sony has not announced the launch date of its next premium Android smartphone, it is likely to go official at MWC 2020 in the last week of February.
