Samsung was delivering the update mostly in South Africa, China is an exception. The new update for Galaxy Note 9 carries the firmware version N9600ZHS7FUD1. This might be the last major update that the smartphone is receiving, the reason being, it is one of the oldest flagships of Samsung. It is turning four this year and is still receiving the update with the April 2021 security update.

However, the Galaxy Note 9 is not going to be a part of the Android 12 update for obvious reasons. There are new flagships of Samsung standing in line to receive the updates that the company has to offer. The smartphone may receive some quarterly patches and with time its flagship may discontinue.

Samsung is rolling out the update in batches and it may take a month for the update to reach the users. Until then, the users can check for the update on their Galaxy Note 9 smartphones by navigating to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
