Google Talk Will Miss Support For Windows From Feb 23

Amid official Shutdown call of GTalk from February 16th. Now, Google is going to end the support and depreciate the Google Talk or GTalk for Windows from February 23. Google’s Product Manager for Google Voice and Hangouts, Mayur Kamat, took to Google Plus today for the announcement.

Google had already made it clear as Gtalk was unavailable for download from Google. Last Year, Google announced the GTalk’s alternative, Hangouts at Google IO 2014. Here’s what Kamat said on G+:

For some time now, our team has shared that we plan to focus our efforts on Hangouts. The Google Talk app for Windows will be deprecated on February 23, 2015. This will allow us to focus on bringing you the most robust and expressive communications experience with Google Hangouts.

Google is trying to bring all the things – phone calls, sms, messaging and video conferencing – in one place, it hasn’t worked until now. So hope in upcoming times it would start working with respective features.
