According to the source, Google will be unveiling three smartwatches, not just one. But, it’s still not clear on what basis these smartwatches will differ from each other. Google, Qualcomm, and other hardware partners have been working on this project for over a year now. But, it has been delayed for certain reasons. This upcoming three smartwatches bear the codenames – Ling, Triton and Sardine respectively.

Under the hood, these smartwatches will be powered by the new upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform. It will consist of a quad-core CPU whose clock rate is not known yet and will be based on ARM Cortex-A7 architecture. The graphics will be taken care of by Adreno 304 GPU. The platform will also come with a new power management IC known as PMW3100.

Also, this chipset will incorporate features from Blackghost SoCs. And thus, it will be built on the 28nm manufacturing process. The Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 will be more power efficient than its predecessor. The smartwatches powered by this chip will be able to respond to voice commands without waking up.
