How to fix “Whatsapp not working” error


Whatsapp is the most used messaging app across platforms. The instant messaging app is used by millions and millions of people across the globe every day. Whatsapp is used by everyone today, be it for office groups or for casual conversations and its pretty safe to say that it has been quite an integral part of today’s Internet world.

Thankfully there are some easy steps which you can follow to get rid of this problem and get back to Whatsapp messaging instantly.

Internet technology has evolved a lot in the last few decades. We are able to do several things from our smartphones, which we could not even dream off a few years ago. How to fix “Whatsapp not Working” error

Restart your Internet connection

If you are able to use Whatsapp but are unable to send or receive any messages, you need to follow the below mentioned steps to fix this issue.

Step 1. Check your internet connection and see if you can use it elsewhere.

Step 2. If you are on Wi-Fi, switch to Celular Data and Vice versa.

Step 3. Go to settings> time and Date and make sure it’s on Auto.

Step 4. Put your phone into airplane mode for 30 seconds and then reconnect.

Step 5. Try to open Whatsapp again and see if the problem persists.

Note – On some networks or in some regions, the usage of Whatsapp is blocked, and to use it, you’ll need to download and connect to a VPN app.

Whatsapp has stopped working error

If your Whatsapp simple crashes and you are not able to use it Whatsoever, you need to follow the below-given step to fix this problem.

Step 1. Go to Settings > App Manager > Whatsapp and Clear Cache.

Step 2. If the app is still not opening, Go to App Manager > Whatsapp again and Clear Data ( Note – Avoid doing this step if you don’t have a backup of your Whatsapp Chats)

Step 3. Try to open Whatsapp again and see if you’re greeted with the Welcome screen, if the problem persists, go to the next step.

Step 4. If none of the above steps work, Turn off your mobile device completely and Leave it off for three minutes. This will clear the memory cache of your device.

Step 5. Restart your device and try to open Whatsapp.

Step 6. If the app still crashes, Uninstall the app, and install the latest version of Whatsapp from Play Store.
