HTC publishes Edge Sense app on Play Store, HTC U 11 gets a price tag

We are less than 48 Hours away from the official launch of HTC’s latest flagship the ‘squeezable’ HTC U 11. And frankly we have a very good idea of its chief features. But nothing clears things up as much as a demonstration and that is what HTC just provided to its fans hours before it’s launch.

THE HTC U 11 dubbed as ‘Ocean’ will have an ‘Edge Sense‘ feature which was teased in a video by HTC. But recently HTC published an App on the Play store called “HTC Edge Sense,” which was spotted by Android Police aimed at teaching users how to use the Edge Sense feature. The app can not be downloaded neither does it have any description but the screenshots give you a pretty good idea as to what HTC plans to demonstrate. But we expect the app to reappear soon after the phone gets unveiled.

One of the screenshots shows how you can fill up a balloon displayed on the screen by simply squeezing the Edges of the phone and release the balloon by releasing the Edges. Other photos show how the squeezing gesture can be used to take photos or even open Google Assistant. Cool isn’t it?. Well, we can’t wait to see it in action. As of now, only this much detail is available and we don’t know how much control the Edge Sense feature will be able to provide to the users. But Hey, it’s only 48 hours till we know.

Another leak has also revealed the speculated price of the HTC U 11. The leak from MobileExpose is saying that the HTC U 11 will be priced at TWD 19,990 (Rs. 42,400 app.) and the leak also claims that the device will go on sale as soon as May 19 after the launch on May 16. This might be the pre-order date instead of the actual sale date of the smartphone since it is just 3 days after the launch. On top of that, this is just a leak and not official confirmation.

Taking a quick look at the HTC U 11, it is, by all means, a flagship device.
It will house the Snapdragon 835 along with 4 GB of RAM. Internal storage is pegged at 64 GB. It is expected to have a 5.5-inch QHD display and run Android Nougat ou of the box. The HTC U 11 will sport a 12 MP rear camera and a 16 MP front sensor. A 3000 mAh battery is expected to power the device with Quick Charge 3.0.

Other features include 4G LTE (dual-SIM in some markets), dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and USB 3.1 Type-C. It is also expected to have water and dust resistance rating of IP57. HTC’s trademark BoomSound technology is also believed to reappear this time with the HTC U 11. All these features do make the HTC U 11 a compelling device. We will see if it lives up to the expectations.
