HTC U11 getting 1080p 60 FPS video recording feature via OTA update

The beefy and shimmering HTC U11 is getting some upgrades in the camera department. To be precise, the new update will enable 1080p video recording at 60FPS. The update was promised by HTC from some time and it is getting delivered. The update doesn’t include any other new notable features. Although it does have the periodical bug fixes, system enhancements and security patch for August.

However, the update is expected to hit devices very slowly. According to HTC, it would take a couple of months. We presume that is more specific to the USB because of the carrier barrier there. Then again, the update wouldn’t be much beneficial to the layman. It would probably appeal to the shutterbugs and those that shoot video content through their HTC phone.

The update has already hit Hong Kong, so we think the update will come to other Asian countries earlier than the American counterparts. To put it into perspective, DxOMark, camera analysts rated the HTC U11 the best camera phone on their tests. Surprisingly, contrary to trend, its a single lens shooter in the HTC U11 coming in at 12MP that tops charts. Also, it was HTC that manufactured the Google Pixel brothers, that are again known for their camera prowess.
