HTC U12 Plus goes official with Edge Sense 2.0 and Snapdragon 845

HTC is now officially up with its latest flagship HTC U12 Plus, though plenty of leaks have already unveiled the device in the flesh earlier these days. Despite that, official launch is inevitable as it marks the event where availability and pricing of the device will be disclosed. But, what to say? Unfortunately enough, even that details went out prematurely, to be precise yesterday, when HTC itself inadvertently listed the device on its official website.htc u12 plus goes official with edge sense 2.0 and snapdragon 845

That said, as of now the device being officially unwrapped let us move on to its specifications quickly. This time, the Taiwanese firm had bundled all of the evolutionary upgrades such as the latest and powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845(SDM845), super vibrant QuadHD+ display and so on. However, in design aspects the HTC U12+ has inherited much from its predecessor the HTC U11+ as they are almost similar with 18:9 structure. However, HTC has made several improvements and more notably is the introduction of the Edge Sense 2.0.

Edge Sense 2.0 – “Live On The Edge”

HTC employs the proprietary Edge Sense technique as a method to summon the assistants in its flagship devices. Perhaps that was the case in the earlier devices as the latest edition 2.0 Edge Sense is way more than just a digital assistant trigger. The brand new Edge Sense 2 system as per HTC it makes us to “Live on the Edge” and for instance, is the caption of the device. Now it allows to program our own shortcuts within apps for taps, holds, and squeezes of the phone’s sides.

Not over, HTC has programmed some tricky tweaks and sometimes handy for some people with the pressure sensitive edges of the U12 Plus. One improvement that could be useful especially while bed ridden with the handset is that the Edge Sense senses how you’re holding the phone and prevents the screen from rotating to landscape mode when you really don’t want it to. And, lots more minor improvements making the Edge Sense even smarter than just a gimmick.
