LG G6 is finally receiving the Android Oreo update in Korea

According to reports, LG has earned maximum profit in Q1 2018 but still, they fall behind in smartphone sales. LG’s 2017 flagships – the G6 and the V30 were the underrated smartphones of the year. Also, the LG G6 Android Oreo update is still not available. But, that’s going to change as the company has started rolling out the Oreo update in their home country Korea.

The LG G6 Android Oreo update is now available for the Korean variants of the device through OTA. Sadly, there is no information available regarding the international rollout of the update. By the way, LG has recently opened Software Upgrade Centre to work on the updates for their smartphones. This will help the company to provide faster and stable software experience to the consumers. Hence, the LG G6 Android Oreo update will be soon available in other markets as well.

As for new features are concerned, the LG G6 Android Oreo update bumps up the UX version to 6.0. And the update includes basic Android Oreo stuff such as picture in picture mode, adaptive icons, notification channels, autofill API and other under the hood changes. Last but not least, the Android version which is being rolled out is still 8.0, not the latest 8.1.
