The Motorola Edge 40 Pro has finally been discovered on Google Play’s Console. The device has also been spotted in Geekbench’s database last week. The next Motorola Edge 40 Pro was made available on the Google Play Console, along with a front-side render and some basic information. It will be a high-end smartphone with a 1080p screen, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU, and 12GB of Memory. These details imply that Motorola will release the Edge 40 Pro as a global variant of the China-exclusive Moto X40 5G. Additionally, we can see the X40’s 2.5D curved sides and centered punch hole there.
The Edge 40 Pro will support Google Services, as indicated by its appearance on the Google Play Console page. Android 13 will also run on it right out of the box. Now, we must wait for a Motorola update to provide a likely launch window. Like its predecessor, the new Motorola Edge 40 Pro has a single-centered punch-hole display with edges on both sides. The screen’s 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and 400 DPI (Density per Inch) rate are both identical.

The chipset with the codename: SM8550 will power the upcoming Motorola Edge 40. The latest Snapdragon 8 Gen2 flagship SoC from Qualcomm powers the chipset. It is based on the new 4nm architecture from TSMC and has the following features: Three Cortex-A510 Energy-Efficient Cores (at 1.8GHz), two Cortex-A715 Performance Cores (at 2.5GHz), and one Cortex-X2 Super Core (at 3.0GHz).
Also, the listing reveals that this device will have 12 GB of RAM. It is important to note that the exact identical gadget, along with its model number and specifications, was also certified by Geekbench.
The Moto X40 has the same processor and display as the Moto X, a 4600mAh battery, 125W wired charging compatibility, a triple camera configuration on the back (50MP+50MP+12MP), and a 60MP selfie camera on the front. The brand-new Motorola Edge 40 series could debut at the MWC 2023 convention. If not, then very likely during the upcoming month (March 2023).
