Nothing will announce the next flagship, Phone (2) in Summer 2023. Certainly, the London-based tech brand’s CEO Carl Pie has officially confirmed on Twitter that the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform. Carl Pie said on Twitter “There has been a lot of discussion ever since we announced that Phone (2) will have a Snapdragon 8 Series chipset.
Well here’s some news, it’s going to be the premium-tier powerhouse Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. A clear upgrade from Phone (1). However, Carl Pie did not reveal if the chipset is underclocked or a normal Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. We suspect this because the Phone (2) was listed on Geekbench with underclocked Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with a 3.0GHz clock speed. Moreover, as per the listing, it will have 12GB of RAM and will come with Android 13 out of the box.

Performance improvement: According to preliminary tests, Phone (2) performs 80% better overall than Phone (1), with app opening times that are TWICE as quick. Beyond performance, choosing a Snapdragon 8 Series over a 7 Series device results in considerable advancements in a variety of areas, including camera performance, network connectivity, and battery life.
An 18-bit Image Signal Processor (ISP) on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is equipped with a camera that can capture almost 4,000 times more data than the ISP on the Phone (1). The Phone (2) camera delivers cutting-edge features like Raw HDR and 4K shooting at 60 fps as a consequence.
The most recent technology can occasionally be expensive for reasons that aren’t necessarily beneficial to users. By selecting Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Phone (2) will continue to be usable while offering a vastly superior experience than Phone (1).
