OnePlus accepts the Credit Card breach vulnerability affecting over 40K users

OnePlus, always known for its good phones in the market, this time there’s a different reason. Last week we covered a news regarding the Credit card related breach on OnePlus website as reported by Fidus. As per the security analysis firm, Fidus, the vulnerability was such severe that “through which malicious code is able to siphon credit card details before the data is encrypted on site’s payment gateway.”

Well, at that time, OnePlus representative took to OnePlus community forums to reply against this issue. Well, he confirmed of analysis about this issue. Now, it is confirmed by the OnePlus that the issue affected 40 K users. The credit card details have been compromised.

Today, OnePlus issued an apology to all the users who have been affected with this security lapse. The statement issued by OnePlus also states that users who have added their credit card details from over past two and half months might have hit with the breach.

Here are other details about the credit card breach vulnerability at Oneplus:

  • Credit card info (card numbers, expiry dates and security codes) entered at oneplus.net during this period may be compromised.
  • Users who paid via a saved credit card should NOT be affected.
  • Users who paid via the “Credit Card via PayPal” method should NOT be affected.
  • Users who paid via PayPal should NOT be affected.

Currently the issue is resolved and OnePlus is mending more strict policies to prevent these kind of issues on the future.
